5.6 DALL-E

DALL-E is a text-to-image generative model from OpenAI. Like Midjourney, it creates images from written descriptions, and it can also edit existing images — for example filling in or replacing parts of a picture (called 'inpainting'). It is integrated into ChatGPT, so you can generate images directly in a chat.

DALL-E turns text descriptions into images and can edit existing ones.

For example, a small business owner could upload a product photo and ask DALL-E to place it on a clean studio background, or generate a simple logo concept from a sentence describing their shop.
