Travel & holidays
In this lesson you will learn to talk about travel and holidays in Chinese — to say where you want to go, how you will get there, and what you plan to do. You will meet useful words like 旅行 (to travel), 飞机 (airplane) and 假期 (holiday). This is helpful when you plan a trip from Addis Ababa or tell a friend about your weekend.
你想去哪里旅行?

下个星期是假期。萨拉和达维特想去旅行。萨拉说：「我们坐飞机去北京吧!」但是飞机很贵。达维特说：「我们坐火车去吧，火车便宜一点。」星期六早上他们去火车站。他们买票，喝一杯咖啡，然后上火车。火车上萨拉看书，达维特看窗外的山。下午他们到了，去市场买东西，也吃了好吃的饭。萨拉说：「这个假期很好，我很高兴!」
To compare prices, use 贵 (guì, expensive) and 便宜 (piányí, cheap): 飞机很贵，火车便宜 = "The plane is expensive, the train is cheap". Add 一点 (yìdiǎn, a little) for "a bit cheaper": 便宜一点. To say you are happy, use 高兴 (gāoxìng): 我很高兴 = "I am very happy".
