Environment and nature
In this lesson you will learn to talk about the environment and nature — the weather, mountains and rivers, pollution, and how we can protect the planet. We will use comparison words such as 越来越 (more and more) and result patterns so you can describe change and explain why protecting nature matters.
今年夏天天气越来越热
jīnnián xiàtiān tiānqì yuèláiyuè rè
ዘንድሮ የበጋ የአየር ሁኔታ እየሞቀ መጥቷል
我们应该保护环境，少用塑料袋

阿贝贝住在亚的斯亚贝巴。他发现这几年城市里的车越来越多，空气也越来越差。所以他和朋友萨拉决定做一些事情。每个周末，他们一边在公园里散步，一边捡垃圾。萨拉说：“如果每个人都少用一点儿塑料，我们的城市就会更干净。”他们还在自己家的院子里种了很多树。阿贝贝的妈妈喜欢喝咖啡，她说院子里的空气现在新鲜多了，喝一杯咖啡更舒服。阿贝贝觉得，保护环境不是一个人的事，而是大家的事。他相信，只要大家一起努力，未来一定会越来越好。
Useful nature words: 环境 (huánjìng, environment), 空气 (kōngqì, air), 污染 (wūrǎn, pollution), 大自然 (dàzìrán, nature), 风景 (fēngjǐng, scenery). To say "not only A but B", use 不是…而是… (búshì…érshì…): 保护环境不是一个人的事，而是大家的事 = "Protecting the environment is not one person's job, but everyone's."
