Education and learning

In this lesson you will learn to talk about education — what you study, why you study it, and how well you can do something. We will use richer connectors such as 因为…所以 (because…so) and the ability words 会 (huì) and 能 (néng) so you can explain your learning goals clearly.

因为我想找好工作，所以我学中文

阿贝贝是亚的斯亚贝巴的大学生。他学经济，因为他想帮助自己的国家，所以他学习很努力。每天早上他先喝一杯咖啡，然后去图书馆。下午他和同学萨拉一起练习中文。萨拉的口语很好，但是阿贝贝的语法更好。他们常常互相帮助。阿贝贝说：“学一门外语不容易，可是只要每天练习，就会越来越好。”现在他能看懂简单的中文文章了，他觉得很开心。

To compare two people, use 比 (bǐ): A 比 B + adjective. 阿贝贝的语法比萨拉好 = "Abebe's grammar is better than Sara's." To say "as long as… then…", use 只要…就… (zhǐyào…jiù…): 只要每天练习，就会越来越好 = "As long as you practise every day, it will keep getting better."
