Money, saving and banking
In this lesson you will learn to talk about money, saving and banking — opening an account, depositing and withdrawing money, saving a little every month, and being careful with spending. We will practise the comparison word 比 (than), the result word 把 for handling money, and time-result patterns so you can explain your saving plan clearly.

阿贝贝在亚的斯亚贝巴的一家公司工作。以前他一拿到工资就花钱，常常买很多不需要的东西，所以月底总是没有钱。后来，他的朋友萨拉给他出了一个主意。她说：“你应该去银行开一个账户，每个月先存一点儿钱，再花剩下的。”阿贝贝觉得这个办法很好。现在，他每个月把工资的十分之一存到银行。他发现存钱比花钱难，但是也很快乐。上个周末，他用省下来的钱请妈妈喝了一杯咖啡，还买了一些做英吉拉的面粉。妈妈很高兴，对他说：“会存钱的人，将来的生活一定比别人轻松。”阿贝贝笑着说：“一点一点地存，钱就会越来越多。”
Useful money words: 银行 (yínháng, bank), 账户 (zhànghù, account), 存钱 (cún qián, to save/deposit), 取钱 (qǔ qián, to withdraw), 工资 (gōngzī, salary), 汇率 (huìlǜ, exchange rate), 省钱 (shěng qián, to save money). To say "one tenth", Chinese says 十分之一 (shí fēn zhī yī) — literally "one of ten parts".
