1.13 The Verb 'to be' (Être)

This begins the intermediate lessons with the most-used French verb: 'être' (to be). It's irregular, so learn it by heart: je suis (I am), tu es (you are, informal), il/elle est (he/she is), nous sommes (we are), vous êtes (you are, formal/plural), ils/elles sont (they are). You've already used it: 'je suis marié'.
