Adjectives describe people and things. Size: grand (big/tall), petit (small). Colours ('les couleurs'): rouge (red), bleu (blue), vert (green), jaune (yellow), noir (black), blanc (white). Adjectives agree with the noun: un sac noir (a black bag), une voiture noire (a black car).
