Ask age with 'Tu as quel âge?' (How old are you?). Answer 'J'ai ___ ans' — literally 'I have ___ years', e.g. 'J'ai vingt-quatre ans' (24). Numbers stack: vingt (20) + quatre (4) = vingt-quatre; trente (30) + cinq (5) = trente-cinq.

Marital status: 'Tu es marié(e)?' (Are you married?). Yes → 'Oui, je suis marié' (Oui = yes). No → 'Non, je ne suis pas marié'. To make a French sentence negative, wrap the verb in 'ne … pas': je ne suis pas = I am not.
