AI consulting is advising organizations on where AI can help and how to adopt it well. A good consultant starts with the business problem, assesses data and readiness, recommends a realistic solution (often buy-or-partner, not build), and plans for change management so people actually use the new system.

For example, a consultant hired by an Ethiopian university might find that the real problem is not 'we need a fancy AI', but that student records are scattered across spreadsheets. The honest recommendation may be to fix the data first, before any model is built.
