1.4 Formal Greetings (Los saludos formales)

Greetings are 'los saludos'. The formal ones — for people you don't know or should be polite with: Buenos días (good morning), Buenas tardes (good afternoon), Buenas noches (good evening/night). To ask 'how are you?' formally: '¿Cómo está usted?' — 'usted' is the formal 'you'.
